12th Annual CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run
The 12th Annual CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run is an athletic event held in Shalimar, Florida, at 92 Sunset Lane. This event honors the memory of the 9th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force and supports the memory care wing at Hawthorn House, a residence for military widows, retirees, and veterans. All proceeds from the race contribute to providing care for residents living with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Participants can choose from several in-person and virtual distances:
- 9K Run
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual 9K
- Virtual 5K
The 9K distance was specifically chosen to recognize the rank of the 9th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. Registered participants for the 5K and 9K distances receive an official event shirt, a commemorative bib, and a commemorative coin. The first 300 registrants for these distances are guaranteed the event shirt and challenge coin.
Attendees can remain after the races for a post-event gathering that includes food, drinks, music, and an awards ceremony. All runners and walkers have the opportunity to fundraise for the cause and will receive a printable race certificate once their results are submitted. Virtual options are provided for those who wish to participate from a different location while still receiving the commemorative items.
