Clowbridge 5k - Spring Series
The Clowbridge 5k is a trail running event held at Clowbridge Reservoir in Burnley. This race is part of a three-part Spring Series taking place over consecutive Thursdays in April. The course follows a popular route located just off the Pennine Bridleway.
Participants run a 5 km distance consisting of two anti-clockwise laps on the trail path surrounding the reservoir. The route is characterized as being fast and flat, featuring a total elevation gain of approximately 25m over the entire distance. The event is open to runners aged 11 and older.
The race starts from the Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on Manchester Road. The event is well-marshalled and includes prizes for each individual race in the series. Proceeds from the entry fees are donated to local causes. For those traveling by car, parking is available at the lower car park of the Sailing Club and on Limey Lane at the far end of the reservoir.
