Clarkston Family Farm 5K Chicken Run and 1 Mile Chicken Little Run
This event at Clarkston Family Farm in Clarkston, Michigan, is a fundraiser for a non-profit educational farm that serves children of all ages and abilities. The program includes two running events offered on the same day:
- 5K Chicken Run
- 1 Mile Chicken Little Run
Both races begin together and participants who start the shorter course may continue onto the 5K route. Adults and children may run or walk either distance. Races are chip timed and top finishers in each age category receive prizes.
Registration opens June 25, 2026 and closes September 20, 2026. Fees listed for the events are $35.00 for the 5K and $30.00 for the 1 mile race. Early registrants receive a shirt and medal on race day; late registrants receive those items approximately three to five weeks after the event.
Additional event features include vendor booths, the farm market, food and drinks, farm animals, garden and hoop house walks, and a playful Hog Jog with the farm pigs. Schools can compete for participation and fundraising awards: the school with the highest participation percentage meeting a 25 participant minimum can win a family fun day up to $500 in value, and the school raising at least $500 can win an on site 90 minute hands on learning adventure offered January through March.
