10th Annual Frightful 5K and Pumpkin 1K
The event takes place on October 25, 2026 at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois Rd, Troy, Michigan. The course is USATF certified and starts and finishes at the Troy Community Center. The 5K route runs onto Big Beaver Road and onto the Civic Center Campus before returning to the community center.
Distances offered:
- Frightful 5K: 3.1 miles
- Pumpkin 1K: 1 kilometer
The Pumpkin 1K is organized in separate time slots five minutes apart, with each slot limited to 60 participants; registrants choose a slot during checkout and should line up for their chosen slot to reduce congestion. Age-appropriate results are provided. Each registrant receives a t-shirt and a finisher medal; shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
Registration opens August 3, 2026. 5K pricing is $35 through October 11, $45 from October 12 to October 24, and $55 on race day. 1K pricing is $15 through October 24 and $25 on race day.
Packet pick up is available at the Troy Community Center front desk (south main entrance) on Friday, October 23 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, October 24 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Race day registration and packet pick up begin at 7:00 am; expect long waits and limited shirt sizes on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
