Clark Lake Run

The Clark Lake Run is a long standing summer road racing event held at Clark Lake, Michigan. Established in 1976, this event features a variety of distances that provide participants with views of the lakefront. The courses consist of gently rolling hills that encompass the lake area.

Participants can choose from several different event categories:

  • 12k Run: A 7.456-mile course with a strict 90-minute time limit (12-minute pace).
  • 5k Run: A 3.1-mile road race.
  • 5k Walk: A 3.1-mile event dedicated specifically to those who intend to walk the entire distance.
  • 3/4k Kids Fun Run: A 1200m race designed for younger participants.

The event features professional chip timing provided by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results are delivered via text message and posted on-site. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in open and masters categories, alongside age group awards for the top three finishers in numerous brackets. Cash prizes are available for top performers in the 12k Run, as well as for course and age group records in both the 12k and 5k events, subject to eligibility rules regarding age and collegiate status.

The race venue is located on Ocean Beach Road. Proceeds from the event are used for the maintenance and progress of the Thomas R. Collins Memorial Spirit Trail. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted at the event, with the exception of service animals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
