Citizens Pell Bridge Run
The Citizens Pell Bridge Run is a timed four-mile run and walk held on August 30, 2026. The course crosses the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge, providing a pedestrian route between Jamestown and Newport that is open to the public on this day.
The event is moving to August for its 15th annual running. It is hosted by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Foundation and is organised as a not for profit; 100 percent of net proceeds support local organisations. The race is open to participants of all ages and speeds, and more than 46,000 runners and walkers have crossed the bridge since 2011.
