Cirque Series - Arapahoe Basin
The Cirque Series event at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Colorado takes place on September 5, 2026. The course is 9.4 miles long with 2,211 ft of vertical gain, beginning and finishing at Mountain Goat Plaza and using approved established trails in the White River National Forest.
The route begins near 10,780 ft, proceeds past High Noon parking lot and Last Chance, crosses Highway 6 onto the A‑Basin summer road, and climbs to Black Mountain Lodge. The course includes a new uphill section toward Zuma Cornice, crosses the saddle to the top of Montezuma Lift, follows the Lenawee trail to Little Lenawee summit, then returns via summer road and singletrack. Downhill sections include the Half Moon Vista and Argentine North Fork singletrack, finishing in Mountain Goat Plaza where there will be live music and food.
Logistics and safety details: the race is capped at 700 runners and fields Sport, Expert, Pro, and Volunteer divisions. Early bib pickup is scheduled for September 4 in Boulder at the La Sportiva retail store; race-day bib pickup is available at the venue. Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the bib. Hydration is provided at two aid stations on course and at the finish. There is a strict cutoff at Black Mountain Lodge aid station (Aid Station #1) of 30 minutes. The course is subject to change and organizers may adjust or cancel the event for safety reasons.
Awards and participant items: competitors receive a snapback, giveaway ticket, logoed bib and medal, a sponsor swag bag, and professional race photos. Prize structure includes cash for Pro places and gear awards for Expert and Sport categories. Season points and overall prizes are awarded across the Cirque Series.
