Event Overview
The Cirque Series at Arapahoe Basin is a mountain running event held in Keystone, Colorado. The course covers a distance of 9.4 miles and features 2,211 feet of vertical gain. The race is capped at 700 participants, who are divided into Pro, Expert, and Sport categories.
Course Details
The route begins at an elevation of 10,780 feet at Mountain Goat Plaza. From the base of Arapahoe Basin, the course follows several landmarks and trails:
- 9.4 miles course through White River National Forest.
The uphill section leads runners through the High Noon parking lot to the A-Basin summer road, passing Black Mountain Lodge. Participants navigate a singletrack hiking trail near the Pali lift and continue toward the Zuma Cornice. After reaching the saddle and the top of the Montezuma Lift, the path follows the Lenawee trail to the summit of Little Lenawee peak.
The descent utilizes the summer road and the Half Moon Vista trail. The final stages of the race transition onto the Argentine North Fork singletrack trail through a shaded forest area. The last mile follows a mountain bike singletrack with high walls, concluding back at Mountain Goat Plaza.
Participant Information
Registered runners receive a snapback hat, a logoed bib, a medal, and a swag bag from sponsors. Professional race photos are provided to all participants. A vendor village is located on-site, featuring live music and food at the finish area. Strict time cutoffs are enforced at the first aid station located at Black Mountain Lodge.
