Event overview

The Silverheels Trail Runs take place Friday July 10 to Saturday July 11, 2026, with the Como Roundhouse in Como, CO serving as the main start/finish area. The event offers multiple trail distances:

  • 100-Mile
  • 100k
  • 50-Mile
  • 60k
  • 19-Mile
  • 10-Mile

Runner capacity is limited: 100 combined spots for the 100-Mile and 100k, and 200 combined spots for the 50-Mile, 60k, 19-Mile, and 10-Mile. Registration for 2026 opened December 1, 2025. Camping near the start/finish is available for a weekend fee of $20 and is not included in race entry.

Course, rules and logistics

Courses sit at an average elevation over 10,000 feet; the 100-Mile route averages just over 10,800 feet and covers 83 non-repetitive miles through multiple ranger districts and national forests. Terrain includes single-track trails, fire roads, dirt roads, high alpine and sub-alpine meadows, aspen groves, creeks, historic mining sites, and ghost towns. The 10-Mile and 19-Mile options use the Gold Dust Trail. The 100-Mile and 100k start at Burning Bear Trailhead #601 in Grant, CO.

Qualifying standards apply: 100-Mile entrants must show a prior 100-mile finish or a 50-mile+ finish within the specified window; 100k entrants must show a 50-mile+ finish within the specified window. 100-Mile entrants must complete eight hours of verified volunteer service or pay a $150 buy-out. Drop bags, pacers, crew rules, mid-race drop-down options, aid station provisioning, and awards are specified in the event materials; all 100-Mile finishers receive a belt buckle and other distances receive finisher medals.
