About the race
The Slacker Races take place in Georgetown, Colorado, on June 27, 2026. The event offers three options: a half marathon, a relay, and a 4-mile race. The course begins at the base of Loveland Ski Area at an elevation above 10,600 feet and descends to about 8,400 feet, following a mix of dirt and paved roads. The route passes wetlands, natural waterfalls, views of the Continental Divide, and remnants of historic mining sites.
The finish area and post-race activities are located in City Park in Georgetown, which provides shade, grassy areas, and family-friendly space. Post-race features include giveaways, locally crafted beer, post-race pampering, and entertainment. Support on course includes water stations and volunteers; there is no strict time limit and water stations remain open until the last runner finishes. Volunteers on bikes carry cell phones and water station volunteers also have cell phones to assist participants. Packet pickup is available in advance at Runners Roost in Lakewood and at Cabin Creek Brewery in Georgetown, and there are designated packet pickup locations at Loveland Ski Area on race day.
