Running Events in Georgetown
The Slacker Races take place in Colorado and feature various distances including a half marathon, a four-mile race, and a relay option. The event is characterized by its significant elevation changes, with the half marathon beginning at the base of the Loveland Ski Area at an elevation of 10,880 feet. From there, participants follow a downhill route that descends to 8,400 feet.

The course consists of a combination of dirt and paved roads. Along the route, participants pass several natural and historic landmarks, including wetlands, waterfalls, and remnants of mining sites. The path also provides views of the Continental Divide.
The finish line is located at City Park in historic Georgetown. This area features large grassy sections and shade for post-event activities. There is no strict time limit for the course, and hydration stations remain available until the final participant finishes. Volunteers on bicycles and at water stations are stationed throughout the course to assist participants. The event provides locally crafted beer and entertainment at the park after the race.
