Cider Challenge Weekend : Cranborne Chase Cider, Myncen Farm
The Cider Challenge Weekend takes place over three days at Cranborne Chase Cider, Myncen Farm in Minchington, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 8DH. The programme includes a mix of timed endurance challenges, shorter trail events and family-friendly plods across the site. Events are set on trail terrain and are described as relaxed and social in format.
The weekend features solo and team options for longer events as well as shorter, named plods for younger participants. Camping is available on the event field; one charge applies per sleeping pitch, there is no electric hook up, and showers and toilets are provided. Fires and barbecue cooking are not permitted on site. A themed disco is planned for Saturday evening.
Key event types include:
- around 5k trail run
- around 2k short family plod
- up to 5k tad longer family plod
- around 10k Apple Plod
- 12 hour solo and relay challenges
- 24 hour solo and relay challenges
Age limits are applied for some events, for example a minimum entry age of 15 for the Friday 5k and 17 for the Apple Plod. Finishers of the timed challenges receive event medals and goodies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
