Starfish Dash 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair
The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society presents the Annual 5K Starfish Dash Run/Walk & Health Fair, held for its ninth year as an official Fiesta event. The event is free and open to all ages, and it is presented on the UT San Antonio campus at 7431 Merton Minter (the park behind Gold’s Gym), San Antonio, TX 78229. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
Onsite activities include a health and wellness fair with vendor check-in, a program with a kids' run, a 5K run and walk, and a closing ceremony with awards. Additional event features noted by the organizer include music, face painting, cosplayers, and health and wellness testing.
The event supports the research center dedicated to studying chromosome 18 conditions and improving the lives of special-needs children and their families. Both in-person and virtual participation options were offered; virtual registration for this year is now closed.
Fundraising incentives for participants are tiered: raising $15 qualified for an official 2026 Starfish Dash Fiesta medal, $60 qualified for a t-shirt and medal, and $100 qualified for a $20 Valero fuel card plus a t-shirt and medal. Team captains who organized teams of five or more qualified for a $20 gas card.
