Starfish Dash 5K : Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society
The Starfish Dash is an annual community 5K Run/Walk and Health & Wellness Fair organized by the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society. The 2026 event took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the UT San Antonio campus (7431 Merton Minter, the park behind Gold’s Gym) in San Antonio, Texas. The event is free and open to all ages; strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
Activities at the event included a Health & Wellness Fair with vendor check in, music, face painting, cosplayers, health and wellness testing, a kids run, and an awards closing ceremony. The event offered both in-person and virtual participation; virtual registration and pre registration for 2026 were closed. Organizers accepted sponsorships and donations of items such as water, food, and snacks, and published a sponsorship packet with multiple support levels.
Fundraising tiers for 2026 provided specific incentives: raising $15 earned an official event medal, $60 qualified for a t shirt and medal, and $100 qualified for a $20 Valero fuel card plus shirt and medal. Team captains who organized five or more members qualified for a $20 gas card.
