The Chocolate Chase 5K for Craniofacial Awareness is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026 in Sacramento, California. The event includes multiple race options and family activities. Distances offered:
- 5K timed race.
- 1 mile walk/run.
- Superhero Kids Dash (for children 10 and under).
Entry categories include adult and youth divisions with age ranges specified for each event. Funds raised will be donated to Faces of Tomorrow. Race management is provided by Capital Road Race Management.
Logistics and race-day information
The start and finish are at Crocker Park (211 O Street, Sacramento). The 5K course runs from the Crocker Art Museum along the Riverfront Promenade through Old Sacramento, by the river to Robert Matsui Water Park, and back. Expected participation is 500+ people.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at Fleet Feet (2311 J Street); registrants receive a race number, timing device, and t-shirt. Race swag includes a short-sleeved cotton t-shirt, dash shirt or cape, commemorative medal, and a See's chocolate bar at the finish. There will be an aid station near the 5K turnaround, bottled water and snacks at the finish, and a first aid tent. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back; only service dogs are allowed on the course. Parking is available at City Lot X (2nd and N Street) for $5 and metered street parking surrounds Crocker Park. Awards are distributed at the awards tent and will not be mailed.
