Event Overview

The Lucky Run - Davis is a running event organized by A Change Of Pace. It takes place at Davis Senior High School in Davis, California. The event offers multiple race distances: a 5K, a 7K, a 10K, a 2.1K, and Kids Fun Runs.

Event Details

The races start on a Saturday in March. The venue is the Davis Senior High School campus at 1612 Oak Avenue. On race day, bib pick-up opens at 6:30 a.m. All bib pick-up occurs on race day only, at the gym parking lot of the high school. Participants are advised to arrive at least one hour before their race start time.

Free parking is available in the main parking lot at 315 West 14th Street, near the Veteran’s Center. A parking map is provided. The courses are primarily on bike paths, and participants are asked to be respectful of others, with slower participants staying to the right. Dogs are not permitted at the event due to insurance policies, but strollers are welcome if participants start towards the back.

Registration and Awards

Registration is handled online. The entry fee includes a unisex short-sleeve performance t-shirt, a finisher medal, a commemorative bib number, chip timing, and eligibility for age group and overall awards, as well as post-race refreshments. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable to other events. Entry transfers to another person are allowed if completed online by the Thursday before the race.

Overall awards are presented to the top three finishers per gender category (male, female, nonbinary) based on gun time. Age group awards are determined by net time, with the top three in each age group for male, female, and nonbinary categories receiving a prize. Awards must be picked up on race day.

Beneficiary

The event's charitable partner is Cancer Champions, a non-profit organization that supports cancer survivors through fitness, nutrition, and mindset programming.

Volunteering

The event relies on volunteers for roles like registration, finish line support, water stations, and course monitoring. A Race Voucher Program allows volunteers to earn a free entry to a future A Change Of Pace event. Groups can also volunteer to fundraise for their own organizations.
