Chippewa Creek Challenge Half Marathon
The Chippewa Creek Challenge is a trail half marathon held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Brecksville Reservation in the Cleveland Metroparks. The event is part of the Dirty Trail Series and welcomes hikers as well as runners.
The course runs on hiking and bridle trails and includes mixed terrain and changes in elevation. Participants encounter steep inclines, twists, and turns along wooded trails. The race takes place during fall foliage season, when leaves create a seasonal landscape in the reservation.
The event identity features local salamanders named Spotted, Redback, and Jefferson, which are referenced in the race logo and are noted for their spring migration to vernal pools. Race finishers receive a finisher medal and a triblend tee.
Dirty Trail Series VIP membership options are offered for the series and include race discounts, shoe discounts at a named retailer, multiple swag options, and an invitation to a series awards party; a no-swag discount option is also available.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in five year age groups including 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over. Donations from the event benefit the Trails Division of Cleveland Metroparks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
