Event overview
The Chippewa Creek Challenge takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Oak Grove Picnic Area in Brecksville Reservation, Cleveland Metroparks (GPS 41.30853, -81.60176). The event is a trail half marathon and is part of the Dirty Trail Series. The course follows hiking and bridle trails and includes varied terrain and elevations, including steep inclines and twists and turns. Donations from the event benefit the Trails Division of Cleveland Metroparks.
Logistics, awards and services
Registration fees: EARLY through 9/24 is $70; REGULAR 9/25–10/14 is $75; LATE 10/15–10/25 is $80. Packet pickup is available early on Friday at Vertical Runner in Brecksville (noon–7:00 PM) and on race day at Oak Grove. There is a 5-hour race cutoff; the first loop should be completed in 2.5 hours and course sweeping begins 15 minutes after that time. Aid stations at Oak Grove are located near miles 6.5 and 13.1. Fluid stations at miles 3.5, 6.5, and 10 will serve water and Skratch hydration; participants are encouraged to carry water. Swag options include a Chippewa Creek Challenge tee and finisher medal, or a CVNP bottle and finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female in 5-year age groups from 14 & under through 70 & over. RaceJoy is provided for live GPS tracking and send-a-cheer features; runners must carry a phone and activate tracking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
