China Camp Trail Run, China Camp State Park
The event takes place at China Camp State Park in San Rafael, CA on May 23, 2026. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, about 1,400 feet elevation gain
- 10K - 6.4 miles, about 750 feet elevation gain
- 5K - 3.0 miles, about 315 feet elevation gain
Courses run mostly on single-track dirt trails and fire roads with technical sections, a sustained climb early in the route, forested stretches, and open trails along San Pablo Bay. Courses are marked with colored ribbons and signs; blue ribbons indicate wrong way and should not be passed.
Aid stations supply gels, chews, Stroopwafels, trail mix, salty snacks, soda, water, Skratch Labs hydration mix, fruit, PB&J, and basic first aid items but no anti-inflammatory medicine. The event is cupless; runners are responsible for carrying their own bottle or reusable cup and are encouraged to carry at least one 20 oz bottle. Drop bag service is not available.
Parking is free along N. San Pedro Road at the Miwok Meadows entrance; a dirt access road leads to the start and finish area. The event capacity is limited to 250 runners across all distances. The half marathon has a 4.5 hour time limit. Awards include overall trophies, finisher medals, age-group medals, and a Dead Last Finisher award.
