Nitro Turkey 2026
Nitro Turkey is an annual running event held on Thanksgiving morning at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Park in San Pablo, California. The event offers several distance options for participants, including:
- 10K
- 5K
- Little Turkeys Race (roughly 100 yards)
The Little Turkeys Race is designed specifically for children aged 10 and under. Those attending with registered 5K or 10K runners receive free entry into this segment, which includes special medals and a goodie bag. The event is open to both runners and walkers, and families are encouraged to participate together. Participants often wear Thanksgiving-themed costumes during the races.
The event serves as a fundraiser and food drive for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods on the morning of the event. Remote participation is also available through a virtual runner category.
For those looking for additional activity, the Double Turkey Challenge is available. This involves participating in both the Nitro Turkey on Thanksgiving Day and the Quarry Turkey race held the following Saturday.
