Chicago Chinatown 5K
The Chicago Chinatown 5K is a community road race presented by Project:VISION, a nonprofit youth organization. The event raises funds for Project:VISION and the Chinatown youth programs it serves. The program includes both an adult 5K and separate youth running events.
The race day program features a lion dance to start the race, a youth race with short dashes, on-site packet pick-up, last-minute registration options, gear check, and event booths. Sponsors and volunteers support race operations; multiple sponsor levels are listed for the event.
Project:VISION’s stated mission is to empower underserved youth in the Greater Chinatown community through service and education, organized around the themes Serve, Lead, and Thrive. Event materials and apparel have included event T-shirts and course maps. Donations collected at the event support the nonprofit’s youth development activities.
