Chicago Chinatown 5K
The Chicago Chinatown 5K is scheduled for July 18, 2026, at Ping Tom Park (East), 1700 S Wentworth Ave, Chicago, IL 60616. The event is organized by Project: VISION, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services organization that supports youth in Chicago's Greater Chinatown community.
The event program includes multiple distances and formats:
- 5K road race
- Virtual 5K
- Youth Dash 200m for ages 6 to 8
- Youth Dash 400m for ages 9 to 11
Project: VISION describes its mission as helping youth reach their full potential by providing tools for educational, personal, and civic development. The organization serves students in grades 6 through 12 with programs such as tutoring, ACT/SAT prep, career readiness workshops, and leadership training. Project: VISION also conducts service projects and mentorship opportunities to promote social responsibility.
Since 2003 Project: VISION reports it has reached over 20,000 Asian American youth in Chicago through free educational and leadership development programs. In the most recent year reported, the organization served 568 students and delivered over 95,000 hours of tutoring, mentorship, and career readiness services.
