Chicago Chinatown 5K
The Chicago Chinatown 5K is a community running event held at Ping Tom Park (East) Field House, 1700 S Wentworth Ave, Chicago, IL 60616. The program includes a 5K run and separate youth dash races for children. A virtual race option is also offered.
The event is organized by Project: VISION, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services organization that serves youth in Chicago's Greater Chinatown community. Project: VISION provides free programs for students in grades 6 to 12, including tutoring, ACT and SAT preparation, career readiness workshops, and leadership training. Since 2003, the organization has reached over 20,000 underprivileged Asian American youth. In the most recent year reported, Project: VISION served 568 students and delivered over 95,000 hours of tutoring, mentorship, and career readiness services.
All donations from the event support Project: VISION's free youth programs and related services.
