Event Overview
The Lincolnwood Turkey Trot is an annual community event featuring multiple distances and activities for participants. The race village, start, and finish lines are all located at Proesel Park, specifically near the Family Aquatic Center. The event offers several ways to participate:
- 10K Run: A chip-timed, USATF certified course.
- 5K Run: A chip-timed, USATF certified course.
- 5K Fitness Walk: An untimed walk along the marked route.
- Drumstick Dash: A half-mile dash for children six years old and younger.
The 5K and 10K routes are marked on the road and via signage throughout the course. For the Drumstick Dash, children younger than five must be accompanied by a guardian aged 14 or older.
Participant Information
All pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeved shirt and a finishers medal upon crossing the finish line. Children in the half-mile dash also receive a goody bag. Packet pickup is conducted at the Lincolnwood Community Center in the days leading up to the event, or at the race village on the morning of the run. Packets contain the event shirt, race bib, and safety pins.
Awards
Winners are recognized in several categories. Overall winners for the timed runs are determined by gun time, while age division winners are awarded based on chip time. Medals are presented to the first, second, and third-place finishers for both men and women across the different age divisions. Special awards are also designated for the top male and female finishers who are residents of Lincolnwood. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
