Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon
The Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon takes place on October 3, 2026 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania and is organized by the Cambria County Trails Series. All race day events finish at Duman Lake County Park and the event benefits expansion and enhancement of the Cambria County Trails and the Cambria County Firefighters Training Facility.
Distances offered:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles, point to point from Ebensburg to Duman Lake County Park
- 15 miler: 15 miles, point to point from Nanty Glo to Duman Lake County Park
- 5k: out and back at Duman Lake, crushed gravel with some pavement
- Couch Potato 0.0k: staged start then immediate finish at Duman Lake County Park
- Casual bike ride: 26.2 mile round trip from Duman Lake to Twin Rocks trailhead
Transportation is available from the finish at Duman Lake to the respective starting points for the marathon and 15 miler. Packet pick-up is available at the Up-N-Running store in Ebensburg prior to race day and at the race staging area on event day. Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative long sleeve shirt; all finishers receive a finisher medal.
Aid and facilities include four full aid stations, three water only stations, and multiple ADA compliant restrooms spaced along the course. The marathon has a 15 minute per mile pace limit; participants who cannot maintain this pace may be offered a ride to the finish area. Awards are planned for top three male and female finishers in the marathon, 15 miler and 5k, with an AWD division and placement awards for the AWD 5k.
