Cheesy Pretzel 5K and 1 Mile Walk
The event features two distances:
- 5K USATF certified course on paved streets through The Promenade Bolingbrook and nearby neighborhoods.
- 1 Mile untimed walk on Promenade property.
The 5K is a timed race with course monitors, split timers, and water stations. All participants receive an order of pretzel bites and cheese. The first 575 registered participants will receive a moisture-wicking long sleeve shirt and a custom finisher medal; shirt sizes are allocated first come, first serve and inventory is limited. Strollers and walkers are permitted; stroller riders do not receive a shirt or medal. Registered runners must be at least five years old.
Awards for the 5K include trophies for the fastest overall male and female and first, second, and third place medals in age groups (10 and under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75+). Advance packet pickup is available on October 2 and October 3 at Star Cinema Grill, 619 E Boughton Rd Suite 200, Bolingbrook. The event supports Heart Haven OutReach and other local nonprofit programs for teens. The event runs rain or shine and refunds are not available.
