Event details
The Cheesy Pretzel event takes place on October 4, 2026, at Promenade Bolingbrook in Bolingbrook, IL. It includes two options:
- 5k (USATF-certified, IL23028NM)
- 1 Mile Walk (untimed, on Promenade Bolingbrook property)
All participants in the 5k and 1 Mile Walk will receive an order of pretzel bites and cheese. The event runs rain or shine and no refunds are available. Strollers and walkers are welcome; stroller riders are free but will not receive a shirt or finisher medal. Registered runners must be at least 5 years old.
Registration, packet pickup and awards
The first 550 registered participants (5k or 1 Mile Walk) will receive a moisture-wicking long sleeve shirt and a finisher medal. Shirt size preferences are allocated first come, first serve based on registration date; sizes unavailable at checkout will not be selectable.
Registration fee tiers noted in the event materials: $30 (loyalty), $35 (early), $40 (standard), and $45 (late or day-of). Participants who register on October 1-3 cannot use advance packet pickup and must pick up packets on race day. Advance packet pickup is scheduled for October 2 and October 3 at Star Cinema Grill, 619 E Boughton Rd Suite 200, Bolingbrook, IL.
Award presentation for the 5k includes trophies for the fastest overall male and female, and first, second and third place medals in age categories from 10 and under through 75+. Post-race refreshments will be provided by Meijer. Proceeds support Heart Haven OutReach programs for local teens. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
