Cheesy Pretzel 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk
The Cheesy Pretzel 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk takes place on October 4, 2026 in Bolingbrook, Illinois at Promenade Bolingbrook. The event is organized as two main activities and runs through The Promenade Bolingbrook and surrounding neighborhoods.
- 5 km - USATF certified course (IL23028NM) through The Promenade Bolingbrook and nearby neighborhoods.
- 1 mile - Untimed walk across Promenade Bolingbrook property.
All participants in the 5k and the 1 mile walk receive an order of Pretzel Bites and Cheese. The first 550 registered participants will receive a moisture wicking long sleeve shirt and a Cheesy Pretzel finisher medal. Shirt size preferences are allocated on a first come, first serve basis linked to registration order. Registered runners must be at least five years old. Strollers and walkers are permitted; stroller riders are free but will not receive a shirt or finisher medal.
The 5k includes an awards presentation with trophies for the fastest overall male and female finishers and medals for first through third place in each age category. Age categories start at 10 and under and extend through 75 plus. Proceeds support Heart Haven OutReach programs such as free mentoring, support groups, leadership programs, and safe spaces for local teens. The event also offers a Charity of Choice program to facilitate fundraising for local nonprofit organizations.
