Chasing Tail 5K and Valentine Fun Run
This event is a dog friendly running event held at The Block in Jacksonville, FL (7520 Quarter Mille Drive). The program pairs the fifth annual Chasing Tails 5K with a Valentine Fun Run, presented in partnership with Kanine Social and in support of the Jacksonville Humane Society.
The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile
For 2026 the organizers planned a runners only wave to allow a separate start for runners without dogs. Both courses were planned to start and finish at The Block. Race results are based on chip timing so each participant receives an individual chip time. A post-race after party was scheduled featuring live music, local vendors, and food.
Registration benefits described for the 5K included an event shirt, a logo pint glass, one beer or soda, a one-day pass to Kanine Social’s indoor/outdoor dog park, and a finisher’s medal; shirts were guaranteed for the first 250 runners. The Valentine Fun Run benefits included an event bandana and a finisher doggie bag.
Overall awards were noted to include a free annual Kanine Social park membership for overall winners, and age group awards were listed in ten year intervals. Packet pickup before the event and same-day registration and check in were also provided. Organizers announced a postponement due to construction at The Brick and offered refund options.
