Event overview
The Chasing Tail 5K and Valentine Fun Run takes place on February 14, 2026, at The Block in Jacksonville, FL (7520 Quarter Mille Drive, 32256). The event is the fifth annual Chasing Tails 5K and is presented by The Block and Kanine Social in partnership with the Valentine Fun Run. The event supports the Jacksonville Humane Society. The course starts and finishes at The Block and the event is dog friendly.

Format and timing
A runners-only wave is offered for 2026, in addition to a wave that allows participants to run or walk with dogs. All finish positions and winners are determined by chip time. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled Friday, February 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the race site. Same-day registration and check-in are available the morning of the event from 6:30 to 7:45 AM.
Entry benefits and logistics
The Chasing Tails 5K entry includes an event shirt (guaranteed for the first 250 runners), a logo pint glass, one beer or soda, a one-day pass to Kanine Social’s indoor/outdoor dog park (valued at $15), and a finisher’s medal. The Valentine Fun Run entry includes a race bandana and a finisher’s doggie bag. Primary parking is available at the race site.
Awards and after event
Overall winners receive a one-year park membership to Kanine Social (stated value $395). Age-group awards are given in 10-year intervals from 0-9 through 70+. A post-race after party will include live music and local vendors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
