Chasing Santa - 5K, 10K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon
The event is a holiday themed running event held at Alamitos Beach, 780 E Shoreline Dr, Long Beach, CA. It offers multiple distances along the Long Beach coastal path and is organized as out and back courses that begin and end at the same location.
Distances offered:
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- 10K - 6.2 miles
- 10 Mile - 10 miles
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
The courses run entirely on the beach path and are not closed to other users, so participants must stay on the right side of the pedestrian path. On-course support includes two water stations and restrooms. Turns are marked with chalk, signs, and flags.
Logistics include bib pick-up at the start area with an early pick-up option at a local store. A gear check is available at the registration tent; participants should bring their own bag. All finishers receive a race medal, and overall first place medals are awarded to the top male and female in each distance. An early start option may be arranged for half marathoners; early starters are not eligible for awards.
Parking information notes a lot fee of $2 per hour while street parking is free, and Half and 10 Mile participants may use the Passport app to pay for lot parking. Registration fees are $24.50 for the 5K, $28.50 for the 10K, $34.50 for the 10 Mile, and $38.50 for the Half Marathon. Results and photos are emailed the day after the race and race photos are free.
