Event

The Charnwood Hills Race is a fell race organised by the Bowline Climbing Club and scheduled for 1 February 2026. The course is approximately 14.5 miles (about 23.4 km) and follows public footpaths and open country through Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill Country Parks. The route includes rough underfoot conditions and involves over 1,200 feet of ascent. The event uses a permit and associated insurance from the Fell Runners Association and UK Athletics.

Entries, categories and prizes

The race is limited to 350 runners and pre-entry is required; no entries are allowed on the day. Entry opens at 8pm on 23 November and the entry fee is £18. Entries are non-refundable but may be transferred via the entry system up to 26 January 2026. Places are reserved for the three fastest women and three fastest men from the previous race where applicable. Categories follow FRA age groups for men and women, team scoring counts the first three runners, and prizes are awarded to the first three men and women, category winners, the first men's and women's teams, and the first Bowline man and woman.
