Event overview

The 38th Charnwood Hills Race takes place on 1 February 2026. It is a fell race held under Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules and is limited to 350 runners. The venue for the event is Martin High School, Link Road, Anstey, Leicester LE7 7EB. The minimum age to enter is 18.

Course and format

The course follows public footpaths and open country through Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill Country Parks. The going underfoot is described as rough. The distance is approximately 14.5 miles (about 23.4 km). Team prizes are awarded with the first three runners to count for each team.

Entry, fees and categories

Entries are on a first come first served basis and were scheduled to open at 8pm on 23 November. The entry fee is £18 and entries are non refundable, although transfers via the entry system are allowed up to 26 January 2026. A waiting list is used once the race is full. Race categories follow FRA age categories for men and women, with prizes for the first three men and first three women, category winners, winning teams and the first Bowline woman and man.
