Charnwood Hills Race

The Charnwood Hills Race is a fell race held on 1 February 2026 under Fell Runners Association rules. The course is approximately 14.5 miles (about 23.4 km) and follows public footpaths and open country through Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill Country Parks. The route includes rough underfoot conditions and involves over 1,200 feet of ascent.

The event is limited to 350 runners. Entry is by pre-entry only, with places allocated on a first come first served basis and a fee of £18. Entries are non-refundable but may be transferred via the entry system up to 26 January 2026. The organisers reserve guaranteed places for the three fastest women and three fastest men from a previous race.

Categories follow the FRA age bands for women and men, with prizes for the first three men and women, category winners, and first men’s and women’s teams with the first three runners to count. The race has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Volunteers, particularly marshals, are invited to help; volunteering can carry a guaranteed entry for the following year which may be transferred to another person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
