Lutterworth 5 Miler : Event description
The event is a measured, EA-licensed road race of 5 miles held on quiet rural lanes around Bitteswell. The course is one lap, fairly flat, and starts and finishes at Lutterworth Rugby Club, Ashby Lane, Bitteswell, Leicestershire LE17 4LW.
Race numbers must be collected on the morning of the event; a collection window is provided. Chip timing is in use and a link to results will be posted after the race. There is a two hour cut off for completion and a sweep vehicle will collect runners who cannot finish. Qualified first aiders are present on course and at the start/finish.
On-site facilities include male and female changing rooms and toilets. Parking is available at the rugby club. Water is available in the finish area; runners are expected to be self-hydrated during the race. There is no access to the rugby pitches.
Safety and race conduct notes: runners must keep to the left at all times, follow marshal instructions, and fill in ICE details on the back of their race number. Bone conduction headphones are the only headphones approved for use. No children, dogs, or cyclists may accompany runners. Medals are awarded to all participants; trophies are given to overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female, plus first-place age-category trophies for specified age groups.
