Lutterworth 5 Miler
The Lutterworth 5 Miler is a road running event held in Leicestershire. Participants compete on a single-lap rural course consisting of quiet country lanes. The route is measured and certified with an EA license, and chip timing is used to record the results for all participants. The course is described as fairly flat, beginning and ending at the Lutterworth Rugby Club.
The venue at the Rugby Club provides several facilities for participants on the day of the event. On-site amenities include male and female changing rooms and toilets. Parking is available at the Rugby Club, and organizers encourage car sharing where possible. For safety and assistance, marshals are stationed along the route, and qualified first aiders are present at the start, finish, and along the course. A sweep vehicle is available to assist individuals who are unable to complete the distance within the two-hour cut-off period.
Participants are required to collect their race numbers on the morning of the event at the venue. For those using headphones, only bone conduction sports models are permitted according to UK Athletics Rules of Competition. Runners are responsible for their own hydration during the race, though water is provided in the finish area. No dogs, children, or cyclists are permitted to accompany runners on the course.
All finishers receive a medal upon completion. Trophies are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, first-place trophies are presented to winners in various age categories, including Under 20, V30, V40, V50, and V60 for both men and women.
