Charity Chase Half Marathon & 5K
The Charity Chase Half Marathon & 5K takes place in downtown Hickory, North Carolina on April 18, 2026. The start line for both races is at the corner of 4th St NW and Main Ave NW. Hickory is located in the foothills of North Carolina, and the courses wind around the city with elevation changes that require sustained effort; organizers note the cumulative ascent and descent is roughly equivalent to a sixty story building.

The event reports a mix of participants, including run/walk entrants and runners ranging from age seven to age seventy. Volunteer support is substantial, with over 300 volunteers positioned at the start/finish and along the course to provide water, Gatorade and GU. Hickory Police staff every controlled intersection and EMS units will be on standby along the course. Course maps are provided for both distances.
Packet pickup is available at the Hickory Metro Convention Center on Friday, April 17 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Race day packet pickup is available at the race venue. Event shirts for the half marathon and the 5K are listed as to be determined. The refund policy states all sales are final and the organizing committee reserves the right to modify, reschedule or cancel the event.
