Chappie James Bridge Run
The Chappie James Bridge Run takes place in Pensacola, Florida, and follows a point-to-point route over the 3-mile Bay Bridge. Formerly known as the Bridge to Bridge 5K, the event allows participants to cross the water from the Pensacola side and finish in Gulf Breeze. The finish line is located near The Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The course offers views of the bay as runners and walkers traverse the bridge structure. After completing the distance, all participants receive a finisher medal. Following the event, water, food, and live music are provided during a gathering at the finish area. For logistics, buses are organized to transport participants from the finish line in Gulf Breeze back to the starting area in Pensacola post-race.
The event supports a local charitable cause through a partnership with the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club. A portion of the registration fees contributes to a local scholarship foundation. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female participants, as well as winners in masters, grandmasters, and age group categories. Specific awards are also designated for the top three male and female walkers.
Parking is available on the side streets within the East Hill area of Pensacola. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the event at a local running store and on the morning of the race at the Visitor Welcome Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
