Zarzaur Law Santa Rosa Island Triathlon
The Zarzaur Law Santa Rosa Island Triathlon is the 30th annual USAT sanctioned sprint triathlon held at 1 Casino Beach Boardwalk, Pensacola Beach, Florida. The course is described as flat and fast and follows shoreline and neighborhood roads.
The race format includes these distances:
- 550 meter swim (600 yards) along the Gulf of America shoreline
- 21 kilometer bike out and back along the shores of Pensacola Beach
- 5 kilometer run through a beach neighborhood
Entry divisions cover individual sprint competitors, a physically challenged division, Athena and Clydesdale categories with minimum weight requirements, an aquabike option limited to swim and bike, and two- and three-person relay teams. Specific division requirements note that the physically challenged division is for athletes with a physical disability, the Athena division requires female athletes of at least 165 pounds, and the Clydesdale division requires male athletes of at least 220 pounds.
After the race there is an athlete afterparty offering complimentary food and beverages. The event takes place on Pensacola Beach, allowing participants to remain in the area to visit local sights and the beach neighborhood. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
