Santa Rosa Island Triathlon
The 30th Annual Zarzaur Law Santa Rosa Island Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned sprint-distance event held on Pensacola Beach, Florida, with race day on October 3, 2026. The course is described as flat and fast. The swim takes place along the shores of the Gulf of America, the bike is an out-and-back route along Pensacola Beach, and the run passes through a beach neighborhood. An after party provides complimentary food and beverages for athletes.
Race logistics include organized packet pick-up at the Casino Beach Pavilion. Each athlete must pick up their own packet and show ID; relay team members must each claim their own packet. Packets include race bibs, stickers, a swim cap, an athlete shirt, and other athlete SWAG. Transition areas are restricted to athletes only.
Starts are self-seeded by swim ability with signage to guide seeding; there is a designated newbie swim start. Wetsuit use is determined by water temperature; when wetsuits are used because conditions are not wetsuit-legal, athletes receive finish medals and times but are not eligible for awards. Volunteer roles during the event include athlete check-in, water safety, transition traffic direction, bike turnaround support, and run aid station assistance.
A youth event, the Zarzaur Law Sea Turtle Triathlon, takes place on October 4, 2026, offering a fully supported, closed-course triathlon experience for children ages 6 to 15. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
