Santa Rosa Island Triathlon
The Santa Rosa Island Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned sprint triathlon held on Pensacola Beach, Florida, at the Casino Beach Pavilion. The 2026 event takes place on October 3rd and uses shoreline roads and beach access for all three legs.
The course is described as flat and fast. The swim is along the Gulf shoreline, the bike is an out-and-back route that runs along Pensacola Beach, and the run goes through a nearby beach neighborhood.
- 550 meter (660 yds) swim
- 21 km bike
- 5 km run
Race packets are distributed at a designated packet pick-up location; each athlete must claim their own packet. Packets include race bibs, stickers, a swim cap, an athlete shirt, and event SWAG. The transition area and packet pick-up access are restricted to athletes only.
The start uses a self-seeded time trial format with signage on the beach; faster swimmers are seeded toward the front. A newbie swim start is provided. Wetsuit policy depends on water temperature; if wetsuits are permitted due to water conditions, athletes may receive finish medals and times but may not be eligible for awards.
An after-event gathering provides complimentary food and beverages for athletes. A separate youth event, the Zarzaur Law Sea Turtle Triathlon for ages 6 to 15, is scheduled the following day on a closed, supported course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
