Event overview
The South Downs Way 100® is a non-stop 100 mile foot race held on 13 June 2026. The race follows the full South Downs Way National Trail from the area near Winchester to Eastbourne. The event has a 30 hour overall cut-off and a minimum entry age of 20. Entry fees are shown as £222 with a UKA discounted fee of £220. The Centurion entry list shows places filled to date and the organiser lists up to 600 starters.
Course and support
The course covers 100 mi (161 km) with around 12,700 ft (3,800 m) of ascent. Terrain is mostly trail - about 85% trail and 15% road. The route is marked with National Trail posts plus event ribbons and arrows. There are a minimum of 12 official aid stations, full medical support, and hot food at some later aid stations and at the finish. Drop bags are accepted for specified aid stations (including Washington at mile 54 and Housedean at mile 76) and at the finish. Pacers are permitted from the Kithurst Hill crew point (mile 50) and crews may access runners only at listed crew points with one crew pass per runner.
Rules and logistics
The event requires mandatory kit to be carried on course and notes there will be kit checks and penalties for missing items. Qualification requires a prior 50 mile finish within 15 hours between 1 January 2020 and race day.
