Event

The South Downs Way 100® is a 100 mile non-stop foot race scheduled for 13 June 2026. It is the 15th annual running of the event and is organised by Centurion Running. The race is part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors Series. Minimum age to enter is 20. Entries open on 12 July 2025 and close on 5 June 2026. Entry fees are listed at £222.00 and a discounted UKA fee of £220.00. Entries so far show 329 participants. The event offers an optional XCover purchase for possible refunds in some circumstances.

Course and logistics

The course follows the entire South Downs Way National Trail, travelling along the chalk ridgeway from just outside Winchester east to Eastbourne. The route passes rolling hills, ancient forts, and villages, with views across southern England. Runners are supported by 12 aid stations, a fully marked course, full medical support, and a 30 hour cut-off time. The event location is Matterley Bowl.
