Central Park Duathlon and Team Boat Relay - October 4, 2026
This event combines running and cycling in Central Park with an optional team boat relay on the Central Park Lake. The location is the Central Park Boathouse parking lot at 72 E 72nd Street, New York. Registration and entry categories include solo duathlon, team relay duathlon, team boat relay for two athletes, and volunteer roles. The event is open to athletes aged 18 and over.
The solo duathlon format is run, bike, run. Run legs are out-and-back on the east side of the park and the second run is completed only by solo competitors. The bike course consists of two full laps of the Central Park Drive for a total of twelve miles and includes Harlem Hill. Elevation gain is about 300 feet per loop. The park remains open to the public during the event.
In the Team Boat Relay, two teammates split run and bike duties and both row a boat through the Lake after the bike segment. Central Park Boathouse staff assist with boarding. The boat loop finishes by crossing yellow finish buoys at the far end of the dock; the race ends there.
The event is not USAT certified or sanctioned and a USAT racing license is not required. Volunteers must sign out to receive race credit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
