Central Park Solo Fall Duathlon and Team Boat Relay

The event takes place at the Central Park Boat House parking lot in New York City. It offers a solo duathlon format of run, bike, run and a team boat relay where two teammates divide the run and bike legs and both row a boat on the lake.

Run legs use an out-and-back layout along the park east side with a turnaround near the 96th Street Margret L Kempner Playground. Each run leg is 2.2 miles. The initial part of the run includes the climb up Cat Hill; otherwise there is no significant elevation gain.

The bike course is two full loops of the Central Park drive, totaling 12 miles and including Harlem Hill. Each loop has about 300 feet of elevation gain. The park remains open to other users during the event.

In the team boat relay, after the bike segment the pair proceeds to the Central Park Boat House dock behind the transition area. Staff assist with boarding and the pair rows one loop of the lake, finishing by crossing the yellow finishing buoys at the far end of the dock.

Volunteers are needed for the event and must sign out to receive race credit. The event is not USAT certified and a USAT racing license is not required to compete. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
