Castle Creek Triathlon
The Castle Creek Triathlon is a multi-discipline event at Lake Pleasant – Castle Creek Boat Ramp in Morristown/Peoria, Arizona. It includes triathlon, kayak/SUP, duathlon, and aquabike options across sprint and Olympic distances. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and requires participants to hold an annual membership or purchase a one day membership.
Distances offered:
- Olympic Triathlon: Swim 1500 m, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750 m, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint Kayak SUP: Kayak/SUP 1500 m, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Olympic Aquabike: Swim 1500 m, Bike 40 km
- Sprint Aquabike: Swim 750 m, Bike 22 km
Race operations include chip timing; chips must be worn on the left ankle from start to finish and returned at the finish line. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete. A $10 entry fee for Lake Pleasant Regional Park applies on race day. Racer amenities listed include a long sleeve hoodie, post race refreshments, finisher medals, and awards for top finishers.
Course notes: swim in and bike in occur at the east end of transition, bike out and run out at the west end. Transition ground is rough. There are no on course bike water stations; athletes must self support on the bike. Wetsuit allowances follow USAT temperature rules. The event uses multiple course cutoffs during the day.
