Wickenburg's Wild West Run
The event is held at Vulture City Ghost Town in Wickenburg, Arizona. All runs start at the ghost town and follow an out and back route along Vulture Mine Rd, with a segment that goes through the ghost town. The course runs on compacted dirt at the side of the road. Runners must remain on the same side of the road for out and return segments and should not cross the road during the race. The route offers desert terrain and distant mountain views.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon 13.1 Miles
- 15K 9.3 Miles
- 10K 6.2 Miles
- 5K 3.1 Miles
- Kids Fun Run about 0.25 mile loop
Water stations are located at each turnaround point. Specific station mile marks: 5K at 1.55; 10K at 1.55 and 3.1; 15K at 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; Half Marathon at 1.55, 3.1, 4.65, and 6.55. Participants in 10K and longer will pass each station twice.
Race packets include a shirt and a bib with a disposable timing chip. Shirt sizes are guaranteed to pre-registered entrants and shirts for later registrants are available in limited quantity. Chips attach to bibs and finish mats record times. The Kids Fun Run is for children 10 and under and includes a shirt and participation medal. Pets are not allowed. Strollers are permitted but should line up toward the back of the start area for safety. Awards are given by age bracket and gender for 5K, 10K, 15K, and the half marathon.
