Dam Good Run - Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Dam Good Run is an annual trail running event held in April at Lake Pleasant Regional Park near Morristown, Arizona. The event offers multiple course distances and uses single-track trails along the lake shoreline and above the water.
Distances:
- 40K
- 26K
- 13K
- 4 Mile
- 2 Mile
Most courses cross the New Waddell Dam; the 2 mile route turns at the visitor center and remains along the shoreline. Trails pass through desert vegetation and areas with Saguaro cacti and are known to have wild burros present. The 40K course includes an out-and-back to Yavapai Point for lake views and requires a short guided raft crossing of a cove, with life vests provided.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 1.6 to 5.4 miles and supply water, an electrolyte drink, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. The event is operated cupless with reusable cups available at registration. Timing is by chip at the finish, finishers receive an award, and top three male and female finishers are awarded by place. Crews may access the start and finish only, no pacers are allowed, and there are no remote drop bag locations. The start and finish area is at the 10 Lane Boat Ramp, where parking and park facilities are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
