Event overview
Carpe Diem - Carpe Noctem is a trail running event on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Proud Lake State Recreation Area in Commerce Township, Michigan. The event offers on-course and virtual options and includes race swag such as a spring race hoodie and custom medals. Day and evening races use the same course; evening races begin near sunset and many finish after dark. Runners who complete both a day and an evening event receive two medals that magnetically connect.

The trails at Proud Lake are described as wide and runnable with a few root sections. Courses are marked with turn signs at every intersection and include confidence markers every 0.1 mile. If it rains, the course may have Michigan spring mud. Between the day and evening events there will be hot food, a community potluck, lawn games, music, coffee, and campfires. An economy registration option is available that excludes swag.
Registration and policies
Virtual entries are offered. Refunds are not issued within 30 days of the event; requests made earlier may be eligible for a 50% refund of the entry fee, excluding processing fees. Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 fee but cannot be deferred to another event or year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
