Carpe Diem Carpe Noctem Half Marathon and 10K: Proud Lake State Recreation Area
On Saturday April 11, 2026, Carpe Diem Carpe Noctem returns to Proud Lake State Recreation Area in Commerce Township, Michigan. The event stages trail races in the morning and again in the evening, allowing participants to run the same course in daylight and under headlamp at night.
Distances offered
- Half Marathon, morning, evening, or double
- 10K, morning, evening, or double
Registration options include standard and economy entries, a Double format combining day and night events, and virtual race choices. Standard registration includes a spring race hoodie and a race medal for each day; athletes who complete both day and night events receive two magnetic medals that connect into one keepsake. The event also provides live results, race photography, and post-race food.
The trails at Proud Lake are described as wide and runnable with a few root sections. Courses are marked with turn signs at intersections and confidence markers every tenth of a mile. Spring weather can bring mud on some sections if it rains, so conditions may vary.
Between the morning and evening races the schedule supports a community atmosphere with hot food, a potluck, lawn games, music, coffee, and campfires. Participants have space to relax on site between events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
