2026 Gobbler Gallop 5K Run/Walk & 10K Run
The Gobbler Gallop takes place on Thanksgiving morning at the Holly Recreation State Park in Michigan. The event features a closed course set entirely on paved roads within the park's rolling terrain. Because the route is located within a state park, a Michigan State Parks Pass is required for vehicle entry.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
- Virtual
- 5K Run/Walk (Economy - No Shirt/No Medal)
- 10K Run (Economy - No Shirt/No Medal)
The course is characterized by its scenic views and significant elevation changes, described as one of the hilliest routes in the region. Since the course is 100% paved and closed to vehicle traffic, it provides a smooth surface for both runners and walkers.
Standard registration include a professionally managed and chip-timed experience with live results, including split times and rankings. Participants in the non-economy categories receive a custom finisher medal, a dri-fit participant t-shirt, and a commemorative race bib. The event also provides free race photos and post-race refreshments. Awards are presented for overall winners and specific age groups.
The event supports the Trecho Fitness Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides fitness programming and scholarships for underserved youth and individuals affected by trauma or substance abuse. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
