NAV4 Daffodil Run & Walk

The NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk is an annual community event established in 2016 to support Pooley Bridge and local businesses after the 2015 Cumbria floods. The event offers an out and back route with a full distance of 13 miles from Pooley Bridge to Hallin Fell via The Cockpit and Martindale Church.

The route uses a mixture of good trails and paths, some sections that may be wet under foot, a short length of tarmac lane and the open slopes of Hallin Fell. The course is sign posted and marshals are positioned at key points. Electronic timing and monitoring are used. There are two drinks stations located on the route, each passed twice.

Registration, start and finish take place at Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall. Entrants will receive a kit list and event updates by email; sensible hill kit is required and organisers will advise on appropriate items nearer the event.

Walkers and slower runners may turn around at support points and return to Pooley Bridge; suggested turnaround points include The Sitting Stone at about 6 miles and Martindale Church at about 10 miles. Runners aged 14 to 18 may start in the runners start if accompanied by an adult and must be entered as individual runners. Free tea, coffee, cold drinks and a tray bake are provided in the village hall for participants after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
