NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk
First held in 2016 and run repeatedly since, this event is based at Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall and follows an out and back route to Hallin Fell. The full route is 13 miles and runs mainly on the Ullswater Way, via The Cockpit and Martindale Church. The surface is a mixture of trails and paths, some wet underfoot, a short section of tarmac lane, and open slopes on Hallin Fell. The route is signposted and marshals are positioned at key points.
There are multiple start windows for walkers, slower runners and faster runners, and late starters after the final window are not accepted. Electronic timing and monitoring are used. A checkpoint and drinks station are located at Martindale Church and will be passed twice on the full route.
Entry options include solo and family team entries. Family teams are limited to six people; different pricing applies for under 14s. Runners aged 14 to 18 may join the runners starts if accompanied by an adult and must be entered as individual runners rather than as part of a family team. Group and club discount codes are available from the organiser prior to entry.
Participants are registered, start and finish in Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall. Free hot and cold drinks and traybakes will be available in the hall after the run or walk, and local pubs and cafes are also nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
