The route takes participants over the Millennium Bridge and past Carlisle Castle. It continues through Bitts Park and Rickerby Park before approaching the finish line located behind the Sands Centre near Lamp post No6.

Event headquarters are located at the Sands Centre, where participants can view course maps and risk assessments. This competition has an entry limit of 300 participants, and all runners must be at least 15 years of age. Live results are provided for the event through a dedicated timing service.

Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, age group prizes are distributed based on the number of competitors in each category.
