About the race
Care For the Homeless Awareness 5K Run/Walk is a community running event held on November 7, 2026, in Riverside Park, New York City. The program includes a scenic 5K Run/Walk and a separate Kids Fun Run. The event is scheduled rain or shine and offers official timed results provided by Elite Feats.
Participants can expect on-course support and event amenities: a water station, on-site refreshments, a bag check, free finish-line photos, and live results delivered online, by text, or email. Runners who register at least three weeks in advance receive a personalized bib; last-minute registrants receive their bib number by text. Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event.
Awards are given to top overall finishers and to top finishers in age categories, and prizes are offered to leading fundraisers. Fundraising is optional but supported through personal and team pages. Fundraising incentive tiers include a T-shirt at $100 raised, a T-shirt and water bottle at $250, and a T-shirt, water bottle, and a special gift at $500 or more; additional prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraisers. Registration fees are non-refundable.
Location and access notes: entrance at 84th Street and Riverside Drive; nearby subway service includes the 1 train to 79th or 86th Street and the 2 train to Central Park West, with several bus routes along Broadway and Riverside Drive.
