37th Cardington Cracker
The event is an FRA AM fell race based at Cardington Village Hall near Church Stretton, Shropshire. The route is 14.5 km long with approximately 793 m of ascent. Race headquarters and number collection are at the village hall.
The course is marked and marshalled except for a descent off the first hill, The Lawley. There are some short sections of road and three road crossings where runners should be aware of traffic. The ground can be wet in December, so shoes with plenty of grip are recommended. Conditions on the summits can be testing at this time of year.
All runners must carry the required full FRA kit throughout the race; this is mandatory. Race numbers and dibbers must be collected on the day and competitors should bring their own pins. Dibbers must be returned after the race. Runners who retire must inform a marshal or the finish officials so they are not reported missing.
Water is provided at the finish only; there will be a table for personal drinks left at the finish. Organisers note limited parking in the village and ask that only official car parks are used to avoid issues with residents.
