Cardiff Taff Trail Half Marathon
The Cardiff Taff Trail Half Marathon is a road race held on Sunday 18 October 2026. It uses Pontcanna Fields and Bute Park before heading north along the Taff Trail to Tongwynlais for a turnaround loop and a return to the start area. The event was run as a pilot in 2018, was paused in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19, and restarted in 2022.
The course runs mainly on tarmac paths with one short stretch of compacted path. An alternative route used for recent events follows the Spine Road, Blackweir Bridge, the river path to Millennium Bridge, passes the College of Music and Drama, reaches the parkrun start area and the triangle at the A48 underpass for the turnaround, then retraces back to the Spine Road and repeats the loop.
Drink stations are positioned at approximately 2.5 miles, 6.25 miles and 10.25 miles. Chip timing is in use. A 3 hour cut off applies as required by the agreement with the council and Race HQ.
Online entries are closed, though some entries on the day may be available. Entry fees are shown as £21 for affiliated runners and £23 for non affiliated runners; minimum age for entry is 17 on the day. Pre-entry closed on Friday 16 October 2026 or when the limit was reached. Race HQ and number collection details will be confirmed shortly. Parking is available at nearby locations including Pontcanna Fields CF11 9LB, Llandaff Fields CF11 9QJ and Llandaff Rugby Club CF5 2AZ.
Prizes are provided for category winners, with 1st to 3rd male and female and age group winners to be confirmed depending on entries. The organisers do not include finisher medals or T shirts with entry fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
