Cardiff 5K - Race For Victory (2 May 2027)
The Cardiff 5K - Race For Victory is a timed 5 kilometre race and fun run taking place in Whitchurch, Cardiff on Sunday 2 May 2027. The event is organised by K & M Sports Events and supported by several local businesses. It is held under the rules and regulations of Welsh Athletics and official results will be posted. Competitors must be at least 12 years old. The course is fully marshalled and marked to national standards.
All entrants receive a limited edition technical T shirt that features the names of those who enter; no finisher medal is provided. Prizes are presented at a prize giving ceremony on race day only and unclaimed prizes cannot be collected later. All registration fees are final and non-refundable and entries cannot be transferred.
A temporary road closure will be implemented on Merthyr Road between The Plough and the Fino Lounge from 15:00 until midnight to house the start and finish area, and a temporary rolling road closure will be in place for a short period mainly on the anticlockwise side of the route between 18:00 and 20:00. Road closures are controlled by Cardiff City Council Traffic Management. The route follows Merthyr Road then Penlline Road, Kelston Road, Heol Don, Station Road, Gabalfa Avenue, College Road, back to Merthyr Road, Bishops Road, Bishops Place and Church Road before returning to Merthyr Road. The road will reopen as soon as the last participant passes each point and it is safe to do so.
