Key landmarks on the course include Worm’s Head, Kenfig Nature Reserve, Merthyr Mawr dune system, Ogmore Castle stepping stones, Nash Point Lighthouse, Atlantic College, Llantwit Beach, Porthkerry Park, Sully Island and the Cardiff Bay Barrage finishing at the Norwegian Church and the Captain Scott Memorial.
Approximate ascent totals are provided for each distance: about 3400 metres for the 100 mile route, 1300 metres for the 50 mile route and 460 metres for the 30 mile route. Checkpoint provision differs by distance: 12 checkpoints for the 100, 7 for the 50 and 4 for the 30, offering sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks. The 100 and 50 races include drop bag access. There is a compulsory kit list that must be carried and live GPS tracking is provided for all runners.
