Event Overview
The Captain Zinn Memorial 5K Races are an annual event honoring all Vietnam Veterans, specifically in memory of Captain Ronald Lloyd "Ron" Zinn. Captain Zinn was a U.S. Olympic racewalker who was killed in Vietnam in 1965. The Shore AC has organized this race in his memory since 1966.
Location and Course
The event takes place at Dorbrook Park in Colts Neck, New Jersey. The 5K course consists of one smaller and one larger loop on the paved path within the park. The entire course is closed to vehicular traffic. A separate 1-mile youth race uses the first, smaller loop of the 5K course and finishes at the same point. Bib and t-shirt pick-up is located by the playground.

Several events are offered. A 50% discount on advance registration is available for all veterans and military personnel.
- 5K Run: The male and female winners receive $100 cash. Second and third place finishers receive $50 gift cards.
