Event Overview
The Cape Fear 24 Hour is an endurance running event held in Lillington, North Carolina. Previously known as the Dia De Los Muertos 24 Hour, the race is hosted at the Lillington Parks and Recreation baseball fields. The course consists of a 0.5918-mile asphalt-paved loop that has been USATF certified.
Course Details
The running surface is primarily flat with a single small incline located along the loop. Participants run on an asphalt trail that surrounds the local sports complex. During the nighttime hours, the Town of Lillington provides lighting throughout the park, which removes the requirement for runners to use personal headlamps.
Facilities and Logistics
The venue includes several amenities to support participants during the event. Restrooms are located a few steps away from the course loop. There is a large parking area with enough space for runners to set up personal sites near their vehicles. While tents are permitted on-site for the duration of the race, the use of open-air fires is prohibited. This format allows participants to manage their own pace and distance over the duration of the event.
