I Thought Turkeys Could Fly 5k
The I Thought Turkeys Could Fly 5k is a running event held in Dunn, North Carolina. This edition follows several previous years of the race. The event serves as a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the DUMA Food Bank.

The course is USATF certified and is characterized by its flat and fast terrain, featuring a total elevation change of 56 feet. The route begins and ends on North General Lee Avenue near Tyler Park. The layout concludes with a downhill finish to the finish line.
Participants are professionally tracked using chip timing. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female runners. Additionally, age group medals are awarded to both male and female competitors in ten-year intervals, including categories for those 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.
This race is part of a Harnett County series in partnership with other events located in Erwin and Coats.
