Dominion Energy Cap Trail Classic
The Dominion Energy Cap Trail Classic is an athletic event held in Richmond, Virginia, utilizing the Virginia Capital Trail. This event features a variety of distances to accommodate different ages and preferences. Participants can choose from several in-person races or select virtual options if they are unable to attend on the main event date.
The event offers the following distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10-Mile run
- 5K run
- 1-Mile kids run (Mummy Mile)
Specific age requirements are in place for the different distances. Participants in the Half Marathon must be 12 years of age or older, while the 10-Mile race is open to those 9 years and older. The 5K requires participants to be at least 5 years old.
The event is organized as a cup-less race to promote sustainability and reduce the use of single-use materials. Water stations are available along the course, but runners are required to bring their own hydration equipment, such as water bottles, bladders, or collapsible cups.
On-site amenities include a dedicated party zone featuring music and local vendors. An awards ceremony is held to recognize top finishers in overall and age group categories.
