About the race
The Virginia Brain Tumor Walk & Race takes place on October 25, 2026 at Bryan Park in Richmond, Virginia. The event features a 5K (3.1 mi) walk and run to raise awareness and funds to support the needs of patients with brain tumors and their families. The event is family friendly and open to all ages.
Event activities include an intimate remembrance ceremony, a survivor tribute during the opening program, and a closing ceremony with runner awards. Awards are given to the top three adult male, female and non-binary runners, the top three youth runners, and the top three survivor runners.
Registration options include adult and youth categories; youth registration is for ages 12 and under. In-person registrants who register before September 25, 2026 may receive an event t-shirt; t-shirts are not guaranteed to late registrants. Registration fees are Adult Walker $35, Adult Runner $40, Youth Walker (12 and under) $10, and Youth Timed Runner (12 and under) $15. A virtual participation option is available with free registration; virtual participants who raise $75 or more by September 25, 2026 are eligible to receive a mailed event t-shirt. Volunteer participation is free, and groups, schools and individuals are welcome.
On-site amenities include activity tents, a Kids Tent, light refreshments and water, and parking at Bryan Park. An Honor and Celebrate Tent will accept photos, letters, poems and other mementos with materials provided for posting. A hotel room block is listed at the Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Northwest Short Pump at a rate starting at $149 per night. A course map is available for the 5K route.
