About the race
The Virginia Brain Tumor Walk & Race is a community event on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Bryan Park in Richmond, Virginia. It features a 5K walk/run to raise awareness and funds to support the needs of patients with brain tumors and their families. The event is described as family friendly and open to all ages.
Program elements include a remembrance ceremony to honor loved ones who have passed, an opening program that will recognize survivors, and a closing ceremony with runner awards. Awards will be presented in categories that include the top three adult male, female and non-binary runners, top three youth runners, and top three survivor runners. The event will take place rain or shine.
Onsite amenities and activities noted for the morning include activity tents, a Kids Tent with activities, an Honor and Celebrate Tent for submissions such as photos or mementos, and light refreshments and water. Parking is available at Bryan Park with parking attendants to assist.
Registration options and fees are listed for in-person and virtual participation. In-person registrants who register before September 25, 2026 may receive an event t-shirt. Virtual participants who raise a minimum amount by September 25, 2026 may receive a mailed t-shirt. Additional fundraising incentives include a commemorative Accelerator Club tee for participants who meet a specified fundraising threshold.
