Event Overview
Cantina's CincoRita Run is a festive athletic event held at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers. This third annual celebration takes place shortly before Cinco De Mayo and features multiple running distances centered around Cantina Laredo. Participants can choose between several distinct race formats:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Run
- Margarita Mile
Race Formats and Distances
The 5K and Margarita Mile events are chip-timed. The Margarita Mile is restricted to participants aged 21 and older, as it requires runners to complete four distinct Quarter-mile loops. Before beginning each lap, participants must consume a 4 oz margarita at a designated station. Those who choose to opt-out of the drinks may still participate for fun but are ineligible for timed awards. Top finishers in this category receive specific prizes, such as taco-related rewards for a year.
Event Amenities and Post-Race Activities
All finishers across the various events receive a commemorative medal and a beach towel. The venue hosts a variety of family-friendly activities, including cornhole, a bounce house, pinatas, and refreshments like cotton candy and sno cones. A post-race breakfast buffet is available at Cantina Laredo starting at 9:00 AM, featuring items such as scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, and sausage. Proceeds from this buffet benefit Valerie’s House in Lee County.
Packet Pickup and Awards
Packet pickup is organized on the Friday evening before the race at a local running store and on the morning of the event at the race site. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
