CanLake Ultras (Canandaigua, NY)
CanLake Ultras is an ultramarathon event on October 10, 2026, based at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York. The event runs around Canandaigua Lake during peak fall foliage and includes multiple race formats and support services.
The 50 mile course is a single road loop around the lake with mostly flat to rolling roads and several major climbs, including Bopple Hill. The 50 km follows the final 31 miles of the 50 mile route and reduces the climbing found in the early portion of the full loop. The event is fully supported with 11 aid stations providing fuel along the course. Personal handlers are permitted but must follow race safety rules; failure to follow those rules can lead to disqualification.
Organizers added changes for 2026, including a new 5 person relay option with a limited number of spots and course tweaks while maintaining the lake circuit. Volunteers receive a race shirt and post-race meal; some key volunteer roles may receive free entry to other events and nonprofit groups volunteering as a team may receive a share of race revenue. Registration policies include relaxed deadlines and no fees for participant transfers, distance switching, deferrals, or refunds under the stated deadlines.
