Event overview

The Campobello Coastal Challenge takes place on Campobello Island, New Brunswick on August 22, 2026. The event is organized by Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Herring Cove Provincial Park and Dutch Viking Events. A portion of registrations will be donated to the Campobello Island food bank. A kids run is scheduled on the same day at the event location; parents or guardians must sign a waiver for participants.

The 25 km and 50 km races start at the historic core of Roosevelt Campobello International Park and include rocky coastal outcrops, tidal bogs, a 2.7 km beach section in Herring Cove Provincial Park, and a final leg through old growth Acadian Forest returning to the start. The 10 km follows the 25 km loop for several kilometers before branching inland into Herring Cove Provincial Park. Terrain includes forested trails, rocky beaches, coastal cliffs and bog boardwalks. Wildlife such as bald eagles, seals, porpoises and whales may be visible from the route.

Aid stations are located at 8 km, 12.7 km and 19.3 km on the 25 km course, and at about 5 km on the 10 km course; water, Skratch and nutrition will be available. The event is chip-timed, offers participant swag and prizes for top male and female finishers of each distance. Race kit pick up is available the evening before at Herring Cove campground and on the morning of the event near the start/finish area. The event is cup-less; participants must bring their own cup, bottle or hydration system. There are washroom facilities and First Aid at the start/finish area. No refunds or deferrals are offered, and dogs and strollers are not allowed. Registration closes August 14. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
