The Campobello Coastal Challenge is set for August 22, 2026 on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. The event is based at Roosevelt Campobello International Park in Welshpool and is organized in partnership with Herring Cove Provincial Park and Dutch Viking Events. A portion of registrations will be donated to the Campobello Island food bank. Distances offered include:
- 10 km loop
- 25 km loop
- 50 km double loop
All races are chip-timed. There is also a kids run at the same race location; parents or guardians must sign a waiver for participating children.
Course and logistics
Courses use coastal and forest trails and include forested trails, rocky beaches, coastal cliffs, tidal bogs and bog boardwalks. The 25 km and 50 km routes start at the park, cross into Herring Cove Provincial Park and include a 2.7 km beach section before returning through old growth Acadian Forest. The 10 km follows part of the 25 km loop before turning inland into Herring Cove and joining the same final leg.
Aid stations are located at 8 km, 12.7 km and 19.3 km on the 25 km course; the 10 km course has an aid station near 5 km. Water, Skratch and assorted nutrition will be available. The event is cup-less, so participants must bring their own cup, bottle or bladder. There will be washroom facilities along the course and first aid at the start/finish area. Dogs and strollers are not allowed. Registration is online only and closes August 14; no race day registrations, refunds or deferrals are offered.
