Camp Turkey Terror: After Dark
Camp Turkey Terror is a nighttime running event held on Friday, November 13, 2026, in Long Beach, California. As the final installment of a three-part race series, the event features a theme that combines autumn traditions with elements of suspense. The races take place under the light of the harvest moon on a course that remains open to the public.
Participants run on a flat, scenic path near Belmont Pier. The route is a car-free, USATF-certified pedestrian beach path. The event includes professional chip timing and several themed checkpoints along the way, such as the Final Feast Turnaround and the Pie or Die Water Stop.
Available distances include:
- 5 km: The Gobble Dash, consisting of a single loop.
- 10 km: The Stuffing Sprint, featuring two 5 km out-and-back segments.
- Half Marathon: A course comprised of three loops of 4.36 miles each.
The event atmosphere includes fog effects, glow lighting, and a costume contest where participants are encouraged to wear holiday-themed attire. All participants receive a finisher medal, and awards are presented for top overall finishers and age group categories. The finish line area features a campfire celebration with a DJ and festive decor. Participants who complete all three events in the series are eligible for an exclusive long-sleeve technical shirt.
